Ciao!
We have left Palermo and have traveled East to the province of Catania. Today we will be visiting Europe's second largest active volcano, Mount Etna.* The approximately 3350 meter volcano is also home to various wildlife and a popular tourist attraction. Because Etna is a strato volcano** no one is sure exactly where its next eruption will be. It is one of Europe's most active volcanoes and is constantly erupting. Consequently, the UN has designated it a Decade Volcano***.
We found some impressive pictures on Google Earth and encourage you to check them out for yourself. You can also see panoramas of Mount Etna at the following website (oh, and we must say that the website is beautifully designed :) ).

Happy Traveling! Don't forget to join us tomorrow as we examine the Sicilian language!
